The census is a government document that states the population of the United States of America. Every ten years the census is re-done and the population is counted. The census is important because the government will know how to distribute the funding among all 50 states fairly. It is also important because it helps determine the amount of representatives from each state.
As a student the census helps me to go to school and have other things available to me. Such as, after school programs and free school lunches. The census helps my family and my community by providing funding for things such as parks, libraries, roads and hospitals.
The information can not be used against parents or adults. The information given on the census is completely confidential. I would tell adults to fill out the census because the roads will help you go places and there are other things like the hospitals when you are sick. You should fill out the census because it helps you and your neighbourhood for ten years.
