Championing Census Student Advocates one borough at a time.

Tu Cuentas! 2020 Census Essay Contest is a city-wide competition created especially for fourth-grade students throughout the five boroughs of New York City.

Participating students will write a short story or essay describing the importance of being counted and how it will directly impact them, and their communities. CUNY a partner in this initiative has assigned CUNY CORP Students to read the Essays and select a finalist from each school. One winner from each of the following schools will get to proudly represent their school and the borough in which they live.  The 15 citywide winning finalists will compete on this site for the title of HITN NYC Census Student Ambassador! Voting begins July 15.

Check out how HITN is helping to shape our future for Census 2020.
